In recent years, the build tool Gradle has become a popular alternative to Maven and Ant. It is designed to handle situations easily, without sacrificing flexibility in the process. At the same time, Gradle tries to combine the flexibility of Ant with the well-known conventions of Maven. Gradle is also able to automatically parallelize parts of the build and thus reduce the build time of large projects. With Gradle, it is possible to integrate dependency management flexibly and easily from existing Maven or Ivy repositories.
During the course, you will learn how Gradle can be used in classic Java builds (JAR, WAR, EAR) based on illustrative examples. You will be shown how Gradle can be adapted and expanded to take special requirements into account, such as the retrieval of external tools as part of the build process.
